FALA System – making travel simple and convenient

With FALA, your ticket is always where you need it – on your phone, your card, or at a "falomat" terminal. Daily commutes can be fast, convenient, and stress-free. Every passenger can choose the method that best suits their needs, whether traveling occasionally or every single day.

In the daily rush, what matters most is what makes life easier. The FALA system was designed specifically to make public transport simple, fast, and tailored to the individual needs of every passenger. No unnecessary formalities, no wondering which ticket to choose, where to buy it, or how much to pay.

Simple and Convenient – Even for Occasional Riders

For those who use public transport only once in a while, FALA is all about convenience. It takes just one action: tap your payment card – physical, or via phone/watch – against the device in the vehicle. Your ticket activates instantly, and you’re good to go. No apps, no logins, no account setup. It just works.

Daily Commute? FALA Supports Your Routine

If public transport is a fixed part of your day, you can use solutions that save time and offer full control. You can buy season tickets wherever is most convenient for you:

  • In the "System FALA" app

  • Via the systemfala.pl web portal

  • At a Passenger Service Point (POK/BOK)

  • At a ticket machine.

Most importantly – regardless of where you buy it, your ticket is saved to your FALA account. It’s always in one ecosystem, accessible via the app, the portal, your card, and all "falomat" terminals. This consistency provides peace of mind and keeps your daily travel organized.

Travel on Your Own Terms

FALA allows you to choose how you travel based on your preferences. Don't want to create an account? You don't have to – just pay with your card in the vehicle. Prefer having tickets ready in the app? You can. Like using a ticket machine? That’s also an option. It is a system that adapts to you, not the other way around.

What About Cash? We Have a Solution Too

If you are buying a standard ticket (e.g., for 4.80 PLN) at a machine, you now have an extra option: if you have a payment card, you only need to tap it once (!) against the device in the vehicle, and the ticket activates automatically. Meanwhile, ticket machines remain a convenient alternative for passengers who prefer cash (though you can also use your FALA Card or a payment card there).

FALA – Peace of Mind, Choice, and Comfort

The goal of the system is not just to streamline ticketing, but to genuinely unburden the passenger. Less stress, fewer last-minute decisions, more freedom. FALA ensures your ticket is always at hand – in the form that feels most natural to you.

What to do during a ticket inspection?

In the FALA system, the rule is simple: show the medium you used to activate your ticket – your card, phone, app, or paper ticket.

  • If you activated your ticket with a payment card (phone or plastic): Simply show the inspector the same card you tapped against the device. The inspector will scan it only to confirm a valid ticket – they will not have access to your financial data.

  • If you have a FALA account and use the app: You can display your current ticket in the app. The inspector will see its status without needing to tap any card.

  • If you have a season ticket on your FALA account: No matter where you bought it (app, portal, machine, or service point), it is saved to your account. During an inspection, you can present:

    • The FALA app,

    • A payment card or FALA Card (linked to your account ID).

  • If you bought a paper ticket at a machine with cash: Show the inspector the printed ticket that you scanned at the "falomat" terminal.

THE GOLDEN RULE: Show the same medium you used for activation – card, phone, app, or paper. Tip: It is worth linking your phone number to your passenger profile. You can always provide it to the inspector's device to verify if your ticket is valid.

Bearer Tickets (Non-Personal) in the FALA System

A simple and convenient option: these tickets can be used by anyone, not just the account holder. It’s an ideal solution for families, partners, or guests. The ticket is not assigned to a name, so you decide who uses it. Key Rule: The passenger using a bearer ticket must have the FALA Card with them to show during an inspection.

Record daily sales in the FALA System

Record-Breaking Daily Sale in the FALA System Confirms Growing Passenger Trust

InnoBaltica, the company implementing the FALA System in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, began the fourth quarter of 2025 with a record-breaking daily sales result. On October 1, the company recorded the highest daily sales value in its history – nearly 1 million Polish zloty. This is proof of the growing interest in the modern way of purchasing and settling travel in the region.

"FALA is becoming the natural choice for a growing number of passengers. We are pleased that the system is performing better and stabilizing, although we continuously work to adapt it to passengers' needs. Our experience shows that both the devices and the 'FALA System' application perform well, including during periods of high traffic," says Radomir Matczak, President of the Management Board of InnoBaltica Sp. z o.o.

System Effectiveness and Seasonal Increase in Passenger Traffic

A significant portion of sales are period tickets – 84% of the transaction value – confirming that the system is used mainly by passengers who commute regularly to work and school. Gdańsk has the largest share of sales (71%), which is, among other things, a result of an effective information campaign, the exchange of ZTM City Cards for the FALA System, and the integration of the Gdańsk Resident Card with FALA.

The holiday period also brought an increase in the number of rail journeys. Through cooperation with carriers, the FALA System handled thousands of passengers using seasonal connections. For example, the total value of POLREGIO ticket sales was PLN 1,616,205.26, with almost half (47.6%) coming from holiday sales on tourist routes.

Comfort and Service Development

"During the summer season, we paid particular attention to the efficiency of the FALA System devices at railway stations and minimizing queues. We encouraged, and continue to encourage, passengers to use the 'FALA System' mobile application, which is becoming increasingly stable and allows them to avoid waiting in line for a ticket, while also enabling the passenger to monitor their journeys," adds the President of InnoBaltica. "Currently, our priority is promoting and facilitating the purchase of period tickets in the app. This mobile sales channel already accounts for over 55% of our total turnover. It is worth noting that the October sales record is the result of the growing number of FALA users, but also the system's efficiency, which we owe to our technical team and partners."

Mobility That Changes Cities

Every journey matters. "Thanks to our passengers and our partners, public transport is becoming a real alternative to the car. This is precisely where we see the future of sustainable mobility. Every ticket purchase in the FALA System is a step towards cleaner cities. We combine technology and responsibility to make public transport simpler, more convenient, and more accessible," summarizes Radomir Matczak, President of the Management Board of InnoBaltica Sp. z o.o.

Change in the Sale of Periodic Tickets in Mobile Apps in the Pomeranian Region

Periodic tickets are a key element of the fare and ticket policy in cities across the Pomeranian Voivodeship and play a crucial role in urban mobility management. The public transport organizers and ticket issuers in the Tri-City—ZTM in Gdańsk, ZKM in Gdyni, and MZKZG—have jointly decided to strengthen control over this area and shift the sale of periodic tickets primarily to their own purchasing platform, the FALA System. Starting August 4 of this year, passengers will be able to purchase these tickets in the FALA System mobile app.

From that date, periodic tickets (Gdańsk, Gdynia, and metropolitan tickets) will be available in the FALA System mobile app, on the websites systemfala.pl, jestemzgdanska.pl, zkmgdynia.pl, and mzkzg.org, at stationary Customer Service Offices and Points, ticket machines, and in the Jestem z Gdańska app. They will no longer be available in commercial mobile apps. It is worth noting that the changes apply to periodic tickets and 24-hour ZTM tickets in Gdańsk. Single and short-term metropolitan tickets (single-ride, 75-minute, 24-hour, and 72-hour)—due to their popularity among tourists—will still be available in commercial mobile apps.

Public transport is one of the pillars of regional policy, fundamental to territorial cohesion, transport accessibility, and sustainable socio-economic development. The consolidation of the full ticket offering within the regional FALA System is a consistent implementation of the strategy to build the Mobility Services Management Platform (PZUM).

"This is an important decision for us. Revenue from periodic tickets is a key element in financing urban transport. By changing the sales model, funds that were previously taken as commissions by commercial app operators will now remain in our budgets," says Łukasz Kłos, Director of ZTM in Gdańsk.

"The FALA System is becoming increasingly operationally efficient and is recording growing sales figures. From the beginning, it was designed as the leading ticket sales and distribution system for both the Tri-City and the Pomeranian Voivodeship," emphasizes Radomir Matczak, President of the Board of InnoBaltica Sp. z o.o. He adds: "Integrating the sale of periodic tickets is another step in this direction. By distributing through a local government company of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, the added value returns to municipal budgets."

The FALA System is not just a ticket sales tool. It is also a modern platform that improves passenger service, manages fares, integrates various sales channels, and analyzes data needed for better transport planning and public transport cost optimization. Its implementation standardizes transport operations in the region and strengthens the role of public transport as a real alternative to private transport.

"The integration of the ticket offering within FALA is part of a broader digital and institutional transformation aimed at improving accessibility, efficiency, and long-term mobility for Pomeranian residents," says Radomir Matczak.

Security

Transactions made by passengers in the FALA System are as secure as those in electronic banking.

64,000 New Users in Gdańsk

From February to May 2025, Gdańsk conducted a campaign to replace ZTM City Cards with the FALA System. Over 64,000 new users registered accounts in the FALA System during that time.

"From February to the end of May, we carried out the process of replacing ZTM City Cards in Gdańsk with the FALA System. It went very smoothly—tens of thousands of users migrated to the new system and are now using its full functionality," informs Łukasz Kłos, Director of the Public Transport Authority in Gdańsk.

FALA Gains Popularity in Gdyni

The Public Transport Authority in Gdyni has been collaborating with InnoBaltica since the implementation of the FALA System in Gdyni. It has made tickets available in the FALA System app and on the website. For passengers' convenience, it has also launched the first stationary ticket sales points (BOKs) for ZKM in Gdyni within the FALA System.

"The FALA System is expanding its presence in Gdyni as well. Customer Service Offices have been opened in Gdyni and Rumia. Soon, we plan further integration with additional distribution channels," announces Hubert Kołodziejski, Director of the Public Transport Authority in Gdyni.
