Important Tips for Traveling with a Payment Card in the FALA System
-
Delayed Charges: When you buy a ticket using a payment card at a reader or falomat, the charge will appear on your bank statement no earlier than the following day.
-
Pre-authorization Fee: A small pre-authorization fee may be temporarily held on your account during the purchase. This amount is fully refundable to your account.
-
Ticket Inspection: During an inspection, tap the same payment card you used to buy your ticket against the inspector’s device. The system generates a unique token to verify your purchase. The inspector does not have access to any personal or card data.
-
One Tap = One Full-Price Ticket: Tapping your card against a reader automatically buys one standard (full-price) single ticket. Tapping the card multiple times will not purchase additional tickets.
-
Discounted and Multiple Tickets: To buy a discounted (concession) ticket or more than one ticket at once, you must use the Falomat (the device in the middle of the vehicle) and select the specific options on the touch screen.
-
No Paper Receipts: FALA devices do not print physical tickets or receipts.
-
Checking Validity: You can check if your ticket is still valid at any Falomat inside the vehicle.
